Mike de Jong doles out $40 to cover childcare? What about reducing our School Levies first?

It's not just the Government, the Teachers, and the Students that are being short-changed here, it's taxpayers who are really being taken to the cleaners.  The BC Liberals keep collecting taxes for schools without providing the service.

"Families First", no way!  BC Liberals FIRST.

$12 million per day to cover the operation of BC Public Schools with the first option that Finance Minister Mike de Jong, and Education Minister Peter Fassbender implement, is to mail out cheques to parents to cover $40 per day costs for childcare, without receipts being submitted first?

Will the parents current child carers (Grand Parents et al Family) be receiving a BONUS of $40 per day?

Why haven't the BC Liberals returned the $12 million to taxpayers for every day there's been no cost to the BC Treasury?   Why is the BC Liberal government continuing to crow about the savings the longer the BCTF is on strike?  Our British Columbia School Levy (Residential) per year is $2,000, collected by our North Shore community, and forwarded onto de Jong.

Handing out $40 per day for the duration of the failed negotiations between the Government Representative and the BCTF shouldn't be based on whether there are children involved, its discrimination by not including all taxpayers that are required to pay the School Levy in the first place.

We want $40 returned to us as well.   Ten days of no schooling would put $400 in our pockets.

An Analysis of Property Taxation

Kootenay  Property Tax collected by the Province of BC  School Levy $3,296,951 for 2013
