Minister of Energy and Mines, Bill Bennett, released a report today on just how well he and his industries are doing.  It's all about jobs, jobs, jobs, revenue to the BC Coffers.  It's all about new mines opening... but then in a flash, he loses a pinch of credibility dealt to him by Imperial Metals Corp. (IMC) which lost control of their tailing pond at Mount Polley.  Would WE, Should WE, trust Bennett and IMC to take care with BC Hydro's over budgeted Northern Transmission Line destined for Red Chris, which is about to produce the same products... with another tailing pond, all run by IMC.

Bennett's report only mention the UPs, not the DOWNS, like jobs related to the IMC flash flood.

Annual Service Plan Report  2013/14

Message from Bill Bennett, Minister of Energy & Mines and Accountability Statement

Page 1 of 30: British Columbia relies on natural resources for much of its economic development. The priorities of the Ministry of Energy and Mines play a critical role in supporting these opportunities and contributing to our province’s success. These priorities begin with controlling  spending to balance the Ministry budget and to support the overall government budget.

Page 24 of 30  Discussion    Operations at mining, exploration and processing sites can be hazardous and, if not properly managed, can impact the environment.   Safeguarding the public, workers and the environment contributes to environmentally responsible development and use of these resources, which is why this measure was chosen.   The threat of accidents is always present, so ongoing policy development and education are necessary to ensure risk is minimized.

Olympic size Swimming Pool Trivia

Bill Bennett's  Tailing Pond breach released five million cubic metres,an amount of water equivalent to about 2,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools. - CBC

Rich Coleman's BCOGC has plans for 120.6 million BILLION cubic metres of pristine British Columbia water for his LNG industry....  let's see.... 120.6 / 5 = 24,120 * 2000 = 48,000 4,8240,000 swimming pools -

Mary Pollack - Environment and Water Conservation expert ... no where to be seen.  She should come out and give us a different perspective than the images from airplanes and helicopters.... different than out of dated images from Google Earth.   Pollack could have bent the ear of LNG Minister Rich Coleman for a screen shot of the STREAMS decimated by the rampaging Tailing Pond entrails, eh.
Sticks Stone Breaks Stream Salmon Bones
Pollack must be still in the same closet that Premier Christy Clark recently vacated .... did someone FART Rich.
